SEO and Organic Search · Guest post placement

Bylines commissioned by editors at games and sports outlets, written under your team's names, with no payment to publications.

About this service

Guest posting still moves organic rankings in games and sports media, but only in the version where an editor commissions the piece and nobody sends an invoice. The version sold by the batch, from a site with a Write For Us page and a 48-hour turnaround, has been dead weight since the December 2022 link spam update began ignoring those links rather than penalising them. You pay, and nothing happens at all. What I actually do: I place your people, not your brand. A studio's technical director writing about netcode rollback for a developer-facing outlet. A performance lead writing about training load for a sports title. A publisher's data editor writing about retention curves after a free weekend. Editors commission humans with something to say and a job title that backs it. They do not commission the team at anybody. The order of work is fixed: read six months of the target section to find the argument nobody there has made, write a pitch of about 150 words against that gap, get the commission agreed before the article exists, then ghost or edit the piece with your named author until it survives the outlet's own subs desk. How publications get chosen: Traffic mix first, domain metrics last. I pull the site's direct and referral share, check whether it has a newsletter anyone opens, whether its staff carry bylines elsewhere, and whether the piece will sit in a section with a named editor over it. A site whose sessions are almost entirely organic with no direct audience is a search artefact, and a link from a search artefact is worth what one is worth. I also read the outbound pattern. Where a publication has linked to eleven different companies from the same paragraph position across a year, its links are inventory, and Google has seen that footprint too. Not included: No payment to publications for editorial. If an outlet asks for money the placement becomes sponsored content, which is different work with a different disclosure, and I will tell you which of the two you are being offered. No anchor text specified by you; the anchor is whatever house style allows, and requesting a commercial phrase is the quickest way to have the link stripped in the CMS before publication. No counts agreed in advance, because a commission is an editor's decision and I cannot promise you one. No republishing the same piece on Medium or LinkedIn as a second placement. Who this is not for: Casino, betting and real-money fantasy. I do not work in iGaming and will not take the brief at retainer rates. Brands with nobody willing to put their name on an argument that could turn out wrong. And anyone whose present problem is thin category pages and broken internal linking, where placements will change nothing until the site itself is fixed. I will say so on the first call rather than after the invoice. How it is measured: Each placement is logged with the commissioning editor, the URL, the rel attribute at publish and again at 90 days, referral sessions from the article, and the position change of the target URL for its top three queries in Search Console against the 28 days before publication. Where an editor later strips or nofollows a link, that appears in the log instead of quietly vanishing from it. I pitch Indian desks in English or Hindi, whichever that desk actually works in.

What the seller needs from you

  1. 1Which named person on your team will carry the byline, and what can they say publicly that nobody else in your category can?
  2. 2Which URLs are these placements meant to support, and what are their top queries in Search Console today?
  3. 3What internal data, telemetry or post-launch numbers has legal cleared for publication?
  4. 4Which outlets are already covering you, and which have declined or ignored you before?

Asked at checkout. Delivery time starts once you answer, not when you pay.
