Niche Edits Pitched to Editors as Corrections

An insertion goes live in two to five weeks and is usually recrawled within ten days of the edit, because the page is already indexed and already ranking. That is the whole reason to do this instead of a new article: you attach to a URL that has spent three years collecting its own links rather than starting one at zero. It also means the page has to be worth attaching to, and most pages offered to you are not. What qualifies as a target page: Published at least eighteen months ago. Ranking inside the top ten for at least one query with commercial intent that your buyer would type unprompted. Carrying fewer than four external links to commercial pages already. We check the edit history and what was added: three prior insertions in the same section is a page that has been sold repeatedly, and the next person deciding whether a fourth is acceptable will not be an editor. We check that the page itself still gets traffic, not that the domain does. What we send the editor: A rewritten passage, not a request. The pitch is that the section is out of date: a figure from 2021, a deprecated endpoint, a regulation that has since changed, a tool that shut down. We supply the corrected text, the source and the link inside it. Editors accept this at a materially higher rate than a bare insertion request, and the edit tends to survive later clean-ups, because removing it would put the error back on the page. Where the link points: To something that answers the question the paragraph raises. If the only relevant thing you own is a product page, we say so, and we would rather you build the page first than force a link into a sentence that did not need one. What we refuse: Domains that publish an insertion price list. Anything routed through a broker who will not name the URL before payment. Insertions into best-tools listicles where entries are bought rather than reviewed, because those pages get cleaned periodically and your link goes with the clean. Homepage, sidebar, footer and author-bio links. Volume on a single domain: two insertions per site is our ceiling, and the second has to sit on an unrelated page. Reporting and attrition: Each insertion is delivered as a URL, the paragraph as it read before and after, and a dated screenshot. We recheck every link at 30 and 90 days and tell you when one has gone. Roughly one in twelve disappears inside a year. That is what editing somebody else's page costs, and any firm reporting zero attrition has stopped rechecking. Not included: No new articles; that is placement work and it is priced separately. No anchor text schedule. No internal linking work on your own site. We do not negotiate removals of a competitor's link from the same paragraph, which is a request we get and decline. Who this is not for: Sites recovering from a link-based penalty, where adding placed links now works against the recovery and we would tell you to wait. Companies with nothing linkable beyond product and pricing pages. Anyone buying on a per-link price, since our judgement here is mostly about which pages to walk away from, and paying us per link would put us on the wrong side of that decision.
