About this service

We place columns under a named person from your company, and last year that ran at 41 pieces published from 96 titles approached. Nothing is bought from a rate card. Where a title charges a publication fee we tell you, tag the link sponsored, and explain what that does and does not do for you in search. Most clients then decline, which is the correct reaction. What a placement is here: An editor commissions a piece from a person, on a subject that person can be argued with about. The byline belongs to a real employee, a revenue director, an architect, a head of asset management, with a photograph, a bio and an address that answers. Editors check these. The pieces that get taken are the ones where the author holds a position the trade disputes, and we will push you towards that version rather than the one your marketing team is comfortable with. How the writing works: Forty-five recorded minutes with the author. We draft from the recording, in the house style of the title, at the length that section actually runs, then the author edits their own words and signs off. We do not draft from a brief with no interview. A piece written from a brief reads like a piece written from a brief, and it is the most common reason a pitch is declined at this level. Where we place: The hotel and hospitality trade press, property and investment titles, and the interiors and design press, in French and in English. We approach a title no more than twice a year. That ceiling is what keeps an editor taking the call, and it is why we hold one client per segment per market rather than pitching two hotel operators into the same section. What we refuse: Sites with a write-for-us page and a payment link. Networks quoting per-placement prices next to a domain rating. Ghostwriting under an invented expert. Author bios crediting someone who did not write the piece. Guarantees on link attributes, because the editor decides, and any title agreeing in advance to a follow link on a commercial anchor is telling you exactly what kind of site it is. How delivery is measured: Per cycle you get the full record: every title approached with the date and the pitch, every response including the refusals, the commissioned pieces, the drafts, and the live URLs with their link attributes as published. Escrow releases against that record. A quarter with four commissions from twenty-two approaches is a normal quarter, and you will see all twenty-two rather than the four. Not included: Translation between French and English is part of the work; other languages are not. We do not write for your own blog, we do not run your social distribution, and we do not place into general business titles outside your sector, where the link is worth less than the hour it costs your author. Who this is not for: Companies with nobody willing to put their name on an argument. If the answer to who the author is comes back as the brand, this channel is closed and no budget opens it. Also not for anyone who needs a set number of links each month. Commissioning does not work that way, and a practice that promises it is buying them somewhere you have not been shown.
