Paid editorial in health, nutrition and pharmacy media, negotiated and disclosed properly, measured on brand search and referral rather than on links.

About this service

Buy a sponsored article for the readership and the brand-search lift, not for the link. On any publisher running disclosure properly the link is marked rel=sponsored and carries no ranking weight, and a title offering you a followed link on a paid placement is either misrepresenting what it sells or breaking its own policy. Everything here is priced on that basis, and the measurement plan is agreed before the media is booked. Where these run: UK trade and consumer titles in nutrition, functional food, medical devices, pharmacy and practitioner media, plus the small number of international equivalents worth the money. I negotiate with the commercial desk directly and show you the rate card conversation, including the discount actually obtained. I take no commission on media; the publisher invoice comes to you at cost. Disclosure, handled properly: The label sits above the headline and reads as a label — paid partnership with the brand named, or the publisher's equivalent — rather than a grey line at the foot of the page. That is CAP Code section 2 for UK consumer media, and 16 CFR Part 255 where a US audience is in scope. Practitioner and pharmacy titles usually carry their own advertorial rules on top; I read them before drafting, because a piece written first and disclosed afterwards reads exactly like one. Claims clearance before drafting: Every health, nutrition or performance assertion is traced to the GB nutrition and health claims register, the EFSA Article 13.1 list, or a named trial, before the sentence exists. Where a claim you want is unauthorised, I write the piece that can be published rather than the one that gets softened by three reviewers over five weeks. If your medical or regulatory affairs team has a sign-off template, I draft into it. Commercial terms I negotiate for you: Permanence — a minimum live term on the URL and written notice before removal. Indexability — whether the piece sits under a sponsored path, whether it is canonicalised elsewhere, whether it is excluded from the site's own search. Distribution — newsletter slot, social, whether the app carries it. Exclusivity — a category window where the publisher will grant one. These terms move the value of a placement far more than the word count does, and they are the part most buyers never ask about. What gets measured: Branded query impressions in Search Console against a matched pre-period. Referral sessions and how they behave, not how many there are. Assisted conversions in GA4 across a twelve-week window. Where the spend justifies it, brand search read against a control market. If a placement produced nothing on any of those, the report says it produced nothing. Refused: Networks and resellers of guaranteed placements. Any title unwilling to disclose. Any request to weaken or remove a disclosure label after publication. Copy attributing an opinion to a practitioner who has not read it. Titles whose audience claims do not survive a look at their own analytics. Not for you if: Your goal is ranking — this is the wrong instrument and I will say so on the call rather than take the fee. Your product's central claim is unauthorised in the market you are selling into. You need the piece live in three weeks; commercial calendars in this sector book six to ten weeks out. Or you want the article written in a named practitioner's voice without paying that practitioner for their time and their review.

What the seller needs from you

  1. 1Which market's readership is in scope: UK only, or does a US audience matter?
  2. 2What is your approved media budget, separate from my fee?
  3. 3What are you measuring this against — branded search, referral revenue, or a launch?
  4. 4Can you grant read access to Search Console and GA4 for the measurement window?

Asked at checkout. Delivery time starts once you answer, not when you pay.
