Separate LINE plans for Japan, Thailand and Taiwan, with broadcast segmentation set against the per-recipient cost of every message.

About this service

One broadcast from a Japanese LINE Official Account to 400,000 friends, once the plan's included messages are used up, is billed per recipient at roughly three yen a head. That single line governs everything else. LINE is not a channel where you publish weekly because the calendar says so; every send has a price attached to each person who receives it, and the segmentation work is therefore the budget work. Three markets, three plans: Japan, Thailand and Taiwan share an app and almost nothing else. In Japan LINE is a utility sitting alongside Yahoo! Japan inventory under LY Corporation, and the buy is a mixed one. In Thailand the Official Account behaves like a storefront, with LINE MyShop and chat commerce doing work a website does elsewhere. In Taiwan the sticker and points economy still moves friend acquisition in a way it no longer does in Japan. I write a separate plan per market, with separate creative, separate cadence and a separate friend-cost target. Running one plan across the three is the error I am usually hired to undo. Buying: LINE Ads Platform handles the working media: in-feed on the LINE Timeline and LINE NEWS, plus network placements. Talk Head View, the takeover at the top of the chat list, is a reserved buy with a price to match, and I recommend it only when there is a dated reason for a spike in friends and an Official Account able to absorb them. Booked speculatively it produces a friend base you then pay per head to talk to. Sponsored stickers get the same treatment: strong in Taiwan and Thailand around a launch, poor as a habit. Segmentation and the message ledger: Friends are tagged from the first day using rich menu taps, chat responses and, where you have one, the CRM key passed through LINE Login. Broadcasts then go to segments rather than to everyone, and I keep a running ledger of messages sent, messages billed and revenue attributed per segment. The plan tier gets chosen against that ledger, not before it. What I will not do: Run one localisation across all three markets. Translate Japanese copy into Thai. Book Talk Head View for a brand whose Official Account has no welcome flow, no rich menu and nobody answering chats in the local language. Buy friends through incentive mechanics that inflate the base with people who block at the first broadcast, since you then pay per message to reach them. Copy in Japanese, Thai and Traditional Chinese comes from native writers I brief and pay, and they are named on the invoice. Outside scope: Media spend and LINE plan fees, settled by you. Building your LINE Mini App or LIFF application, though I will specify what it needs to do. Chat staffing and response times. Shopee, Lazada and Rakuten marketplace advertising, which is a different trade. Who should not buy this: Brands that want Japan because a competitor is there, with no Japanese customer service and no plan to acquire any. Anyone expecting the account to pay for itself inside a quarter; friend bases in Japan compound slowly and the second year is where the economics arrive. Companies unwilling to hold a local entity or a partner arrangement for account and billing. Reporting: Monthly, per market: friends added and their cost, block rate, messages billed against messages sent, and click-to-purchase where your side can pass it back. Plus one paragraph each month naming the thing I would stop paying for.
