LINE Ads in Japan, Thailand and Taiwan as Three Accounts
Social Media Advertising · LINE Ads (Japan/Thailand/Taiwan)
LINE Ads and Official Account messaging run as three separate market programmes, with cost-per-friend ceilings set per country.
About this service
A LINE friend in Osaka and a LINE friend in Bangkok are different assets, and the invoice is where you notice. A Japanese Official Account on the Standard plan carries 30,000 messages a month for JPY 15,000 and charges around JPY 3 for each one after that. Thailand prices broadcasts on its own ladder. Taiwan on a third. Cost per friend therefore has a different ceiling in each country, and the single regional CPF target most plans open with is arithmetic nobody checked.
Three accounts, three plans, three creative lines:
Japan, Thailand and Taiwan run as separate programmes with separate Official Accounts, budgets and approval chains. Audiences do not move between them, LINE Tag data does not pool, and the winning placement differs by market. Smart Channel at the top of the chat list is the reach position in Japan and is priced like it. LINE TODAY carries real weight in Taiwan and Thailand. VOOM behaves like a video feed and rewards work shot vertical, not a re-cut television asset. When a client wants one campaign for all three we quote one and put in writing what it will underdeliver.
Where the money goes:
Friend-add buying is judged on cost per friend and on the block rate at day 30, since friends who block you still cost the acquisition and quietly shrink the base every broadcast reaches. Conversion and install buying runs against LINE Tag with base and event tags verified before launch plus a server-side check, because platform-reported conversions run ahead of your own numbers and the size of that gap is a fact worth owning early. For Thai automotive we build to the dealer reality: the enquiry arrives in a dealership's own LINE account and the handover, not the click, is where leads die. We measure that handover and give you branch-level numbers whether or not they flatter the network.
Entity and verification:
Japan expects a local presence behind a verified Official Account and the review is not a formality. Thailand and Taiwan differ again. We tell you which of the three you can actually enter this quarter with the entity you have today, and which needs a partner or a subsidiary first. That conversation happens before a contract, not after the first rejection.
Not included:
No LIFF or Mini App development. We specify what the app has to do and work next to your engineers or a Japanese vendor, but we do not write it. No CRM integration through the Messaging API. No Japanese, Thai or Chinese copy invented from an English source; native writers are commissioned per market and their fee sits visibly on the invoice rather than inside our margin.
Who should not book this:
Companies looking at LINE as cheaper Meta reach. Teams with nobody who can answer an inbound message in Japanese, Thai or Mandarin within a working day. Anyone unwilling to fund three sets of creative, because the alternative, one asset subtitled three ways, reliably produces the worst cost per friend in the account.
How it runs:
The scope most clients take is one market launched and proven, with the second opened only after the first clears its cost-per-friend threshold two months running. We would rather run one country well than three badly and we will argue for that sequence even when the budget exists for all three at once. Reporting is a shared sheet updated weekly with the assumptions written beside the numbers, plus a standing hour a month with your channel lead. You own the accounts throughout; we hold operator access and nothing else.
