Category-first Google Business Profile work for retailers with one to seven showrooms, plus the store pages and review operations behind them.

About this service

The change that moves map-pack position most often is the primary category, and most retailers set it once when the profile was created and never looked at it again. Across the store profiles we have run since 2019, a primary category change produced a visible pack movement within two weeks in a little under half of cases. Photo volume and posting cadence produced nothing we could separate from seasonality. That ordering decides how this engagement is sequenced: category and attributes first, review operations second, the store page on your own domain third. Who this is for: Retail with between one and seven addresses a customer can walk into. A furniture showroom, a children's shop, an apparel flagship, a department store concession. If your business is a service area with no public address, the levers are different ones and we do not work on them. The category work: We map the full Google category tree for your vertical rather than the handful the dashboard suggests, then change primary category one location at a time with a two-week hold and a control location wherever you have more than two. Secondary categories get set to what the store actually sells rather than everything adjacent to it, because categories that pull in the wrong queries also pull in the wrong reviews, and a one-star review from someone who wanted a service you never offered costs more than the impressions were worth. Attributes, products and hours: Attributes feed filters most retailers never see in their own reporting: in-store pickup, wheelchair accessible entrance, the child and family attributes for kids' retail, delivery and assembly for furniture. We fill them from what the store can truthfully honour on a Saturday, confirmed by the store manager rather than by head office, because the attribute that generates a complaint is worse than the one left blank. Where a product feed exists, the Products section is populated from it so a discontinued line does not sit in the profile for a whole season. Reviews: We treat reviews as a store operations problem, not an acquisition channel. You get a response policy a manager can run in ten minutes a week, a written escalation path for the review that names an employee, and a monthly read of what review text says about stock and staffing, which is usually the more useful output. We write the response templates. We do not solicit reviews on your behalf, and we will not put a review request behind a satisfaction filter. Both breach Google's policy and the second has cost retailers their profiles outright. The store page: The page on your own domain gets the schema, the hours, a local stock signal where your systems can produce one, and internal links from the category pages that matter to that store's catchment. It does not get four hundred words about the neighbourhood. If your store pages currently sit in the index as near-identical templates, we will tell you which ones to remove rather than rewrite. Not included: Citation building through an aggregator subscription. Keyword insertion in the business name. Profiles at addresses you do not occupy. Weekly Google Posts as a retained line item, though we will set up the ones tied to a real range or a real event and hand you the cadence. Paid local advertising in any form. Reporting: One monthly note per location: pack position for the query set we agreed, calls and direction requests from Google's own export, and what changed. If a location has not moved in three months and the cause is the store itself, its hours, its staffing or a rating below four, we say so and stop billing for that location.
