The grid separates a category problem from a proximity ceiling before we rebuild anything, and we tell you which one you actually have.

About this service

Most map pack problems come down to three causes, and they have to be separated before anyone edits a field: the primary category is wrong, the profile is being measured from a spot that flatters it, or the business sits outside the radius Google is willing to show it in for that search. A 49-point grid at half-mile spacing tells the three apart in about a week. Two of them we can fix. The third one no agency can fix, and we say so before you pay for a rebuild. What gets measured first: We run a geo-grid, 7 by 7 points, spacing set to your real trade area rather than a default: half a mile in a dense metro, one to two miles where drive times are longer. It runs against the terms that produce booked calls, not the terms that produce impressions in a report. The output is an average rank across the grid and a map of where you disappear. The baseline is recorded before we change anything and exported to you as CSV. That file is the only honest before-and-after in local search. A single rank check from one point tells you nothing about the block four miles east, which is where half your competitors are winning. The rebuild: Primary category is the largest single lever on the profile, and it gets chosen from what the profiles currently sitting in your pack use, not from what describes you most accurately in prose. We rewrite the category set, the services list with copy written per service instead of duplicated, the business description, hours including the holiday set for the next twelve months, attributes, and products where the vertical supports them. Photos get geo-relevant filenames and a posting cadence your staff can actually sustain, not a burst that stops in March. If the name field contains keywords, they come out. That is not a stylistic preference: stuffed names breach Google's representation guidelines and are the most common trigger for the suspension that arrives the week after a competitor reports you. When the answer is inconvenient: Sometimes the grid shows top-three positions inside 1.2 miles and nothing past 2.5 miles on every term. That is proximity, and proximity is arithmetic, not optimization. The real options at that point are a second staffed location, paid Local Services Ads, or accepting the trade area you have. We will tell you which of the three we think is right and we will not sell twelve months of profile work that cannot move a boundary. Roughly one diagnostic in six ends here. We would rather lose the rebuild than invoice against a ceiling. What is not included: No review generation from our side. We build the request workflow, the response templates and the escalation rule; your staff asks the customer. No gating, no incentives, no purchased reviews, at any price. No website build beyond the fields that feed the profile, though we will name what on the site is holding the pack position back. No mass citation blasting: we correct the NAP records that matter, meaning the data aggregators and the three or four directories your vertical actually uses, and leave the rest alone. No listings created at virtual offices, coworking desks or a relative's address. Who does it: The partner running this practice has handled profile suspensions and reinstatements for service businesses since 2018, including video verification appeals, and has been wrong about a category decision often enough to check it against the live pack rather than against instinct. Work is delivered in English or Spanish, including the profile fields themselves where your customers search in Spanish. Not for you if: You are a national brand with no staffed premises. You want a guaranteed position: nobody can sell that, and a grid makes the absence of a guarantee visible, which is exactly why we use one. You need movement before a launch three weeks out; category and field changes take four to eight weeks to settle, and the day-30 grid is usually still noisy. If any of that describes you, say so on the first call and we will decline.

What the seller needs from you

  1. 1Manager access to the Google Business Profile, plus any other profiles for the same business you know about.
  2. 2The five to ten search terms that produce booked work, not the ones you want to rank for.
  3. 3Your real trade area: the furthest you will send a technician, or how far customers reasonably drive to you.
  4. 4Any suspension, reinstatement or verification history on this profile.
  5. 5Whether the profile and customer-facing copy need to exist in Spanish.
