Push, Pop and Alternative Traffic · Adult-traffic media buying (ExoClick, TrafficJunky)

Spot-level buying on Aylo tube inventory and the ExoClick marketplace, starting with whether your payment processor can survive the referrer.

About this service

The first thing I check on an adult buy is not the traffic. It is who processes your payments. Stripe, Braintree and PayPal all bar adult and adult-adjacent business in their acceptable use terms, and I have watched two merchant accounts frozen inside sixty days because the referrer strings in the risk review said tube site. If your checkout runs on one of those three, the honest answer is that this channel will cost you your processor, and the engagement stops in the first call. The two platforms are not one market. TrafficJunky sells Aylo's owned properties, so you are buying a small, stable set of very large sites with spot IDs that behave the same way this quarter as last. ExoClick is a marketplace across a long tail of sites where quality varies by an order of magnitude, and its worth to you is the spot-level bidding and the category blocking, not the reach. I buy TrafficJunky when the offer needs predictability and ExoClick when it needs a specific audience slice that Aylo does not have. Running both against a shared CPA target and comparing the blended number is the standard mistake, and it hides which one is actually working. On formats, the useful distinction is what kind of attention each one buys. In-video pre-roll buys attention that is waiting for something else and resents you. The instant-message format — the fake chat overlay — buys taps, a meaningful share of them accidental, so it gets its own landing page and its own economics or it does not run. The desktop right-column banner is the only spot where a funnel with more than one step tends to survive, and it is a fraction of total volume. Mobile is where the impressions are; desktop is where the cards are. I plan the buy around that split rather than around a volume target. How I bid: on TrafficJunky by site, spot, device, country and browser, with frequency capped and day-parted; on ExoClick by spot ID with category and keyword exclusions applied before the first dollar, not after a bad week. Creative goes through platform review knowing it is competing against the content behind it, which means the ad that wins is rarely the one your brand team likes. Measurement runs on your side, keyed to your own click IDs, with postbacks from your backend. Network-attributed conversions are read for reconciliation only. On rebill or trial offers I want the refund and chargeback numbers by spot at day 30 and day 60, because a spot with a strong day-one CPA and a 9 percent chargeback rate is not a good spot, it is a slow processor termination. What I will not run here: Negative-option rebills and anything with a hidden trial conversion. Dating smartlinks and rotator offers where I cannot see the end destination. Mainstream consumer brands without written sign-off from someone at your company empowered to give it, in writing, in advance. Offers whose merchant agreement prohibits adult-sourced traffic, whatever the compliance officer said verbally. Who this is not for: Anyone shopping for cheap volume. This inventory is cheap and that is precisely the trap: the cost per thousand is low enough that a weak offer can burn a month of budget before the numbers force a decision. Anyone who needs to control what appears adjacent to their ad. Anyone unwilling to build a separate landing page per format, because one page across pre-roll, instant message and banner will mislead you about all three.

What the seller needs from you

  1. 1Who processes your payments today, and does the merchant agreement permit adult-sourced traffic?
  2. 2What is the offer and its billing model — single charge, trial, or recurring?
  3. 3Do you have or can you build separate landing pages per ad format?
  4. 4Which platforms do you already have accounts on, and were any previously rejected?

Asked at checkout. Delivery time starts once you answer, not when you pay.
