Carousel builds where the first three cards each stand alone, fitted to feed truncation and the card-order setting most briefs forget.

About this service

Meta serves the best-performing card first by default. The setting that stops it sits in the ad itself, and until somebody switches it off, a panorama image split across five cards is a layout the platform is free to reshuffle, and it will. That is the first question on every carousel intake call here, because the answer decides whether the format is even the right one for what you want to say. Card one, and the ones behind it: Card one buys the swipe and does nothing else. Cards two and three carry most of what the ad achieves, because swipe depth falls away hard after the third position. So each of the first three cards is built to work alone, as though it were a single-image ad: its own subject, its own reason to exist, legible without the card before it. Anything beyond the third is a sequence the viewer may abandon at any point without losing the offer. Copy that fits the card, not the design file: The per-card headline truncates in feed at around forty characters on most devices, and the description often does not render at all depending on placement. I fit headlines against the truncation. Where a line will not survive the cut I send back a shorter one for approval rather than shrinking type until it technically fits. The end card you did not design: Meta may append a final card pulled from your page profile. I design the last authored card assuming it exists, so the sequence does not end on a cliff and the appended card does not read as an error. What gets built: Square masters per card, since carousel in feed is square and I will not pretend a 4:5 version exists for it. Where the same set runs on Demand Gen or TikTok, the cards are rebuilt for those ratios and card limits rather than reformatted. Layered source with one frame per card, named in serve order, plus a card-order note stating plainly whether the sequence requires dynamic ordering to be disabled. That single line is the thing most often lost between the design file and the person building the ad. Regulated categories: For crypto advertisers I build to the disclosure your compliance team supplies and I design space for it. I will not place a required disclosure where a crop can hide it, and I will not build a card that implies a return. Both get the account restricted, and the restriction outlasts the campaign by a long way. What this is not: Not catalogue carousels. If cards are generated from a product feed, that is the dynamic creative engagement and the design problem is a different one — those layouts have to survive strings and images nobody has seen yet. Not video cards, not motion, not a mixed carousel where two cards animate. Not copywriting: I fit, cut and argue about length, but the claim is yours to make and yours to have cleared. Wrong fit: You want ten cards because the format permits ten. You want the panorama because a case study showed one and nobody in it mentioned the ordering setting. You are testing whether carousel beats single image, which is a media test you should run with creative you already own before commissioning a build. Or the product needs demonstration rather than sequence, in which case video is the honest answer and I do not make it.
