Form Optimisation Measured Against Qualified Pipeline

Field-level form telemetry joined to CRM outcomes, so field removal is judged on qualified pipeline rather than submission count.

About this service

Field-level data first, opinions second. Before touching a form we instrument it: time to first keystroke, abandonment by field, error rate by field, and how often a field is corrected after an error. On a typical business demo request, one or two fields carry most of the abandonment, and it is rarely the field everyone argues about in the meeting. The instrumentation takes a few days and settles arguments that have run for quarters. Instrumentation: Zuko or Formisimo where there is budget for a dedicated tool. Otherwise about forty lines of event code into GA4 or your warehouse: focus, blur, change, validation error with the field name, submit attempt, submit success. Event names only, never field values, which keeps the whole thing outside the argument about what your consent banner covers. The mechanics that actually move the numbers: Validation on blur rather than on every keystroke, because telling someone their email is invalid while they are still typing it is the single most common self-inflicted wound in this work. Error text that states what is acceptable rather than announcing that something is wrong. Autocomplete tokens and inputmode set so a phone field opens a numeric keypad and a saved address fills in one tap. One field for a full name unless you have a reason you can state. Swedish personal identity numbers accepted in ten and twelve digit form, with and without the hyphen, because your customers type all four and only one of them passes most validators. Organisation numbers checked with the Luhn digit rather than a regex that guesses. Postal codes that differ across Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, validated by market rather than by whichever format the developer lived in. Lead quality is the constraint, not lead volume: Removing fields raises submissions. Whether it raises qualified pipeline is a different question and only your CRM can answer it. We join form events to HubSpot or Salesforce outcomes before recommending that any field be removed, and where that join is impossible we mark the recommendation unverifiable rather than making it and hoping. Sales teams remember the quarter they got twice the leads and half the meetings, and they are right to. What we refuse: Multi-step wizards added because a case study recommended one; splitting four fields across three screens moves the abandonment rather than reducing it. Progress bars that misrepresent how much is left. Conversational forms, which turn a thirty-second task into a two-minute conversation with something that is not listening. Pre-checked consent boxes, which in the EU are not a design preference to be tested. Not included: No form building or front-end implementation. No CRM configuration, scoring model or routing rules. No email nurture, no chat widget, no lead magnet strategy. We instrument, diagnose, and write the specification your team builds from. Who should not buy this: Teams who cannot give us downstream outcome data, because then this is submission-count optimisation and we would be guessing about the part that matters. Forms behind a login we cannot reach with a working test account. Teams who already know they want fewer fields and want a document endorsing it; sometimes the answer is a longer form with better error handling, and if that outcome is unacceptable in advance there is no point paying for the analysis.
