Buying and measuring the paid inventory that genuinely exists inside AI assistants, with a matched-market test rather than a platform dashboard.

About this service

The sponsored inventory inside AI answer products that can actually be bought, targeted and measured is narrower than the trade coverage suggests. What is real: Microsoft Advertising's placements inside Copilot surfaces, Perplexity's sponsored follow-up units through its ad partners, sponsored product surfacing inside Amazon's shopping assistant, and Brave's answer-adjacent inventory. That is the buy. Guaranteed placement inside a general assistant's default answer is not sold, and anyone offering it is selling you something else under that name. We start every engagement by saying which of your target surfaces is buyable this quarter, and it is usually two. The buy: Accounts, entity structure and billing sit with you; we operate them. Targeting is built from intent phrasing rather than keyword lists, because the query length distribution on these surfaces is different enough that a search account ported across performs badly. Creative is written for a reader who has already been given an answer, which means the unit's job is to be the specific next step rather than to restate the category. We set frequency and negative controls tightly on launch and loosen them against measured data, not the reverse. What we can measure and what we cannot: Most of this inventory does not accept a third-party pixel, and platform-reported conversions here are worth less than the same figure from a search account. So the measurement is designed before the buy. We run matched-market holdouts: comparable markets split, one exposed, one suppressed, with a pre-registered read date and a minimum detectable effect stated before launch so nobody gets to declare a win from noise afterwards. Server-side conversion import runs where the platform supports it. Alongside that we operate a weekly prompt panel: two hundred buyer-phrased prompts run against each assistant on a fixed schedule and logged, so you can see whether your brand appears in the unpaid answer as well as the paid unit, and whether the paid unit is being placed against the prompts you thought you bought. The panel is the part clients keep after the media stops. Where this works and where it does not: For a beauty brand the real question is whether the assistant will carry a shade or skin-type qualifier into a recommendation, and if it will not, the paid unit is doing all the work and should be priced as display. For a dealer group the question is whether inventory and location can enter the answer at all, which decides whether this is a demand channel or a brand channel. We test that before recommending spend, and on two engagements the answer sent the budget back to paid search. Brand safety and disclosure: These units appear next to generated text you do not control. We set exclusions where the platform offers them, monitor placement context through the prompt panel, and define in advance what triggers a pause rather than improvising it during an incident. Regulated claims do not go through these surfaces on our watch, and we do not write copy designed to be repeated by the assistant as if it were the assistant's own finding. Outside scope: We do not do content engineering aimed at influencing unpaid assistant answers. That is different work with a different risk profile and mixing it into a media engagement makes both harder to read. We do not buy through resellers claiming access to placement inside general assistants' organic answers. We do not build your landing pages, though we will tell you when the page is the reason the test failed. Who this is not for: Brands spending under 50,000 dollars a month on paid media in total. Measuring these surfaces properly has a fixed cost, and below that level it consumes a share of budget we cannot defend. Teams who need weekly optimisation stories; the holdout has a read date and we will not interpret it early. Anyone treating this as a place to be first rather than as a channel that has to clear the same bar as the rest of the plan.
