Cuts a media kit of eleven products down to the three that sell, priced on survey-backed audience evidence and written to survive procurement.

About this service

Most publisher media kits carry eleven products and sell three. This engagement cuts the sheet down to what an advertiser will actually buy, builds the audience evidence that supports the claim on each sell sheet, and writes the terms that let a sponsorship survive a procurement review. Start with the deal history, not the inventory: The first thing we ask for is two years of closed-won and closed-lost records with the rate achieved on each. The pattern shows up fast: the format everyone praises and nobody renews, the product that only moves when discounted below its own production cost, the advertiser type that renews at full rate and was never targeted on purpose. Packages get designed around the second and third of those. The first gets retired. Audience evidence: An advertiser buying a sponsorship is buying a particular reader, and a pageview figure does not describe one. We run a reader survey, where about 400 responses gives roughly five points of precision at 95% confidence, which is enough to make a claim in a sell sheet you can defend under challenge. That gets combined with logged-in ratio, declared first-party fields, and for a B2B software title the seniority distribution of the list. For a banking title the useful line is the share of readers who already hold the product being advertised against. One sentence like that moves rate further than any format change. Ownership, not impressions: The unit we design around is something a sponsor can name and hold for a period: a section, a recurring franchise, a weekly briefing, a moment in the calendar, a slot at a live event. Impressions belong in the delivery report, not in the proposition. Each package carries a fixed deliverable list, a term, and category exclusivity defined as a named list of competitors rather than the word exclusive, which means nothing when there is a dispute. Terms that survive procurement: Before anything reaches legal, the success metric is agreed with the advertiser in writing, together with the make-good that applies if delivery falls short. Editorial independence is written into the package rather than implied: what the sponsor may review, what they may not ask to change, and how disclosure appears. On a health title this is not a formality, since advertiser copy carrying a therapeutic claim needs its own clearance in the UAE before it runs, and the package states that the publisher will not carry an uncleared claim at any fee. Deliverables: The package architecture with the reasoning behind every cut. One-page sell sheets your team can send without editing them first. The media kit. The measurement definition for each package. The pricing rationale and the comparables behind it, though the rate card and the floor policy are built separately and are a different engagement. Not included: Design production past the layout of the sell sheets. Selling the packages. Growing the audience they describe. We also decline to design a branded content studio for a publisher with no editor to staff it, because that promise sells once and fails once. Who this is not for: Publishers who want the existing deck redrawn. If the products are wrong, a better-looking file sells them more slowly. Publishers unwilling to retire inventory, since this only pays when things come off the sheet. And anyone hoping to dress resold programmatic supply as a sponsorship, because buyers check and the second meeting does not happen.

What the seller needs from you

  1. 1Can you send two years of closed-won and closed-lost deals with the rate achieved?
  2. 2What do you already know about your readers that you can prove?
  3. 3Which products on the current sheet are you unwilling to retire, and why?
  4. 4Does the title run events, and does an editor have capacity for branded work?

Asked at checkout. Delivery time starts once you answer, not when you pay.
