Advantage+ App Campaigns for Regulated Fintech Apps
Social Media Advertising · Advantage+ App campaigns
Advantage+ app campaigns built around a SKAdNetwork conversion value schema, one MMP, and a matched-market holdout before any budget increase.
About this service
Around a third of Australian iOS users grant ATT consent, which means most of your iOS acquisition is measured through SKAdNetwork: a coarse conversion value, delivered after a twenty-four hour activity timer plus a randomised delay, attributed to a campaign rather than to a person. Every design decision in an Advantage+ app campaign follows from that constraint, and anyone still describing cohort-level creative attribution on iOS is describing something they cannot see.
The conversion value schema:
This is the first deliverable and it is written before a campaign exists. We map values to the part of the funnel that predicts revenue for your product — registration completed, identity verification passed, first deposit, first deposit banded by amount — not to app opens and tutorial completions. For a lending or trading product the useful signal usually sits two or three steps deeper than whatever the app team instrumented first, and it often falls outside the measurement window. That forces a decision about what to measure rather than a wish to measure everything. We make the decision explicitly, write down what it costs, and revisit it once at ninety days.
Measurement plumbing:
One SDK. Your MMP — AppsFlyer, Adjust or Singular — with the Meta integration configured and app events registered in Events Manager, or the Meta SDK direct. Not both. Dual instrumentation produces two truths and a monthly argument about which one to believe. Android carries none of the iOS constraints and runs as a separate campaign with its own target, because blending the two hides which platform is paying.
Verification before spend:
Meta requires advertisers running financial products and services ads to Australian users to complete its financial services verification, supplying an ASIC licence number or a documented exemption. It takes days to weeks and it is not something to discover in launch week. We start it in the first meeting, before the media plan.
How we run the account:
A small number of well-funded Advantage+ app campaigns rather than a lattice of ad sets that each starve. Cost cap where your unit economics have a hard ceiling, lowest cost where you are deliberately buying share ahead of a funding round or a product launch. Creative refresh timed by measured fatigue — first-week frequency and CPM drift — rather than by a content calendar. Where the deposit distribution is wide enough to matter, value-based optimisation; where it is not, we leave it off and say why.
Incrementality:
Install attribution overstates paid social for any brand with organic search demand, and fintech brands usually have it. We run a matched-market holdout across capital city metros paired on population and baseline install rate, minimum four weeks, before recommending any budget increase beyond thirty percent. It is the only reason we will ever ask you to spend materially more.
What we refuse:
Optimising to installs. Cost-per-install guarantees. Taking an account where day-seven retention sits below about ten percent, or where identity verification loses more than half of registrations — media makes a leaking funnel more expensive, it does not repair it, and that belongs in the first call rather than in month three. We do not write ASO copy, produce creative, or run Google app campaigns.
Not for:
Pre-launch apps with no event history to model. Products under roughly a thousand installs a month, where the postbacks return too little signal to steer anything and you are better off buying nothing until organic tells you what works. Teams who cannot free an engineer for SDK and event work in the first fortnight.

What the seller needs from you
- 1Which MMP do you run, and are Meta app events already registered in Events Manager?
- 2What does your funnel look like from install to revenue, with drop-off at each step?
- 3Do you hold an AFS licence, and has Meta financial services verification been completed?
- 4What are day-7 and day-30 retention, and average revenue per user by cohort?
- 5Which markets and platforms are in scope, and what is the monthly budget for each?
