Pinterest Product Pins and Seasonal Demand Buying
Social Media Advertising · Pinterest Ads and product pins
Dated Pinterest buying built from search demand curves, with the product catalogue fixed first and results read against your own order data.
About this service
Pinterest search demand for a seasonal occasion builds through the 30 to 45 days before the date and falls away the day after it. A campaign that launches in the week of the occasion is buying the tail of its own market. So the first artefact of this engagement is a dated calendar built from Pinterest Trends curves for your category in your market, and the buying follows the calendar rather than the calendar following the buying.
The second thing that decides the outcome is the catalogue, not the bid. Product Pins fail quietly: an item group with no GTIN, a price that disagrees with the landing page, an availability field refreshed weekly against a stock file that changes hourly. We read the Catalogs diagnostics report line by line before touching a campaign. In the accounts we have inherited, somewhere between a fifth and a third of items were either disapproved or serving stale data, and no bid strategy repairs that.
The work:
Feed and Catalogs. Scheduled ingestion, item group structure, the fields Pinterest actually ranks and filters on, and a weekly disapproval review with a named owner on your side who can change the feed.
Measurement. Pinterest Tag plus the Conversions API server-side, deduplicated by event ID, then reconciled against your order table every month. Where the budget can carry one, a conversion lift study decides whether the channel stays; platform-reported ROAS does not get that vote.
Buying. Structure by occasion and by margin rather than by product line. Direct Links throughout. Performance+ where the account has the conversion history to feed it, manual structure where it does not, and we will tell you which case you are in after two weeks of data.
Creative direction. Three to five distinct claims per season, each in a form people save rather than scroll. We direct and review; we do not sell asset count, because asset count is what an account produces when it has run out of arguments.
What is not included:
Photography and production. We write the brief, review the cut, and refer a studio if you need one. Organic pinning, community management and blog distribution are not part of this. We diagnose the feed precisely, naming the fields and the values they should carry, but we do not rebuild your PIM or write your ERP export.
Who this is not for:
Brands with no product feed and no dated demand. A considered purchase with a six-month cycle and no seasonal shape has better places to spend, and we will say so at the scoping call rather than at the third invoice.
Anyone who needs to be live this week. The planning runs a month ahead of the market by design, and launching late means paying for the tail deliberately.
Brands whose only imagery is a packshot on white. Pinterest will serve it and nobody will save it. That conversation belongs before the contract.
How it runs:
One senior person owns the account and attends your weekly commercial meeting, in French or English. Changes are logged with a date and a reason so that a result in March can be traced to a decision in January. Budget sits in your own Pinterest ads account under your billing, and you keep it if we part company.
Reporting:
One page a month: spend, orders reconciled to your system, the variance against platform-reported figures, what we changed, and what we are testing next. Where a lift study is running, the read is reported with its confidence interval and the date it becomes readable, including when that date has not yet arrived.
