Sourcing rounds that end in signed one-page agreements with a named owner and a launch date on both sides, not a slide of logos.

About this service

A sourcing round ends with three or four partnerships that have a signed one-page agreement, a named owner on each side and a date in a calendar. Reaching that usually means reading past sixty or seventy candidate brands, and most are cut before anyone is contacted — often because their audience sits so far inside yours that a joint campaign would only move the same people around again. Partnerships in Italian food and drink, and now in family products, are made between two people who expect to still be talking in two years. That is the mechanism, and it explains most of the failures. A marketing director agrees to a joint campaign because a peer asked, and because the ask was already specific enough to say yes to. Nothing sent cold to info@ has ever produced one. How the shortlist is built: Adjacency, not size. For a producer in the Langhe that means a cookware brand, a knife maker, a walking-route association, a cooking school with a list of its own — not another producer under the same appellation. For a weaning-food brand it means paediatric practices, a nursery group, and the parenting titles that already run a nutritionist column. Before either side commits, both hash their subscriber addresses and compare counts; the addresses never move, only the number comes back. Past roughly a fifth overlap I say the campaign is spend without reach, and I say it to both sides. What you receive: A one-pager for each partnership that survives. It states what each side puts in, the asset, the date it goes live, who owns it by name and job title, what counts as delivered, and what happens if one side misses. Alongside it, the rejected candidates with the reason each was cut. That second document is the one clients reread six months later when a board member asks why nobody approached the obvious name. The introduction: I write the first approach myself, in Italian for Italian counterparts, signed by me and naming your side properly. Then I sit in the first call — to keep it from turning into a demo, and to write down what was actually agreed while both people are still on the line. After the second call it is yours. I do not want to become a channel your partner has to go through. What I refuse: Barter arrangements with no date attached; they are the most common output of partnership work and the least likely to run. Affiliate and revenue-share deals, which are a different job and should be bought from someone who does that job. Anything that requires a partner to hand over customer records: consent does not travel with a list under GDPR, the Garante has fined for exactly this, and a partnership that opens with a compliance problem closes as one. Influencer and ambassador sourcing. Not for you if: You have no product yet, or nothing a partner would want in exchange — sourcing cannot invent a trade where there is nothing to trade. You need logos on a slide before a board meeting, which is a quicker and cheaper purchase elsewhere. You want the partner to fund the campaign; that changes the ask and changes who you should be talking to. Languages and reach: Italian and English. Outside Italy I work where the introduction can be warm, which in practice means the food and drink trade in the EU and the UK, and family brands with a European distributor. If I cannot reach a decision-maker in two steps I will tell you before you pay rather than after.

What the seller needs from you

  1. 1What can you actually put on the table for a partner: audience, product, event access, retail placement, data?
  2. 2Which brands are already off limits — competitors, former partners, anyone your legal or founders have ruled out?
  3. 3Who on your side owns partnerships after the introduction, and what does their calendar look like for the next quarter?
  4. 4What has been tried before, and what happened?

Asked at checkout. Delivery time starts once you answer, not when you pay.
