Ad Creative Production · Creative testing roadmap

A quarter of creative tests where each variant moves one variable, with sample size and read date agreed before anything is produced.

About this service

A creative test that cannot be read is a production invoice with a chart attached. So the roadmap begins with arithmetic rather than ideas: at 30 to 40 conversions a week in a test cell, the smallest difference a platform split test will resolve inside a fortnight is around 30 percent in cost per result, and no hook rewrite moves cost per result by 30 percent. Tests too small to read get cut before anyone briefs a designer. What survives is a sequence, sized against your actual volume, with the read date written down in advance. Where the hypotheses come from: Twelve months of ad-level export from Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads, read for the split between hook failure and argument failure — three-second plays against thruplay against cost per result separates the two, and they need opposite fixes. Then the losing side of the account: an Ads Library sweep of the four competitors your buyers actually shortlist, thirty sales calls or support threads for the objection language nobody in marketing writes down, and for marketplaces, the two sides handled separately, because the argument that recruits supply insults demand. How a variant is built: One variable per pair. Hook frame, offer framing, proof type, format, narrator — one of these moves and the rest are held. The variable is encoded in the ad name, channel_concept_variable_version, so a raw export pivots without anyone rebuilding a spreadsheet by hand. Each pair enters a ledger carrying its hypothesis, the cell size it needs, the read date and the decision rule agreed before spend, including the result that would make us kill the concept rather than iterate on it. Measurement, chosen before production: Three instruments. A platform split test divided by user for anything where the difference sits inside the ad. A geo holdout for anything arguing at brand level, where in-platform reporting will credit the ad with demand it did not create. Pre and post against a stable baseline only when neither of the first two is available, and labelled as the weak reading it is. Where dynamic creative is switched on, per-asset reporting cannot attribute a win to one element, so it is a delivery setting here, never a test. What I will not plan: Forty variants handed to the algorithm with the verdict written afterwards. A test whose winner your team cannot produce at the cadence the media plan needs. Any hypothesis resting on a claim legal has not cleared — in banking, insurance and law-firm work the compliance reader sits in the hypothesis session or I do not write the test. And no forecast of lift: the roadmap governs what you learn, not what your product converts. Who this is wrong for: Accounts under roughly 40,000 euro a month in paid media. The volume will not carry a quarter of readable tests and you would be buying a document. Teams who want the ads made — this ends at the brief. Anyone who needs the answer this month, since the first read lands at week four at the earliest, and I would rather say that before you buy than after. What lands: A testing ledger your team keeps using after I leave, one written brief per test with the moving variable marked, the measurement specification per test, a read-out template that forces a decision instead of a summary, and a working session with the people who will run it. Italian-market engagements run in Italian, with the ledger bilingual so a non-Italian head office can audit it.
