Branded Podcast Episodes Produced for a Host Feed Drop
Audio Advertising · Branded podcast episode production
One branded episode, produced and dropped into a host feed with a real audience, labelled as advertising under section 22 MStV.
About this service
A branded episode is worth making only if somebody else's audience hears it, so we do not quote production on its own. Every engagement here includes a paid drop into a host feed averaging at least 20,000 IAB v2 downloads per episode in its first 30 days, and the production sits inside that number rather than beside it.
What we make:
One episode, 22 to 34 minutes, in German or English, built on a story your company is actually the source of: a supplier you dropped and why, returns data nobody has published, a launch that failed and what it taught the buying team. We interview three people inside the business and one customer before the subject is agreed. If none of those four conversations produce a story, we say so and stop, rather than manufacture one out of the brand deck.
Recording is double-ender: local 48 kHz capture at both ends through Riverside, or a treated room in Hamburg with an SM7B and a Sound Devices front end when the guest is worth the travel. You receive a 24-bit WAV master mixed to minus 16 LUFS integrated with true peak held at minus 1 dBTP, so Spotify's minus 14 normalisation and Apple's minus 16 target both leave the mix alone. Then a 128 kbps stereo MP3 for the feed, ID3 chapter markers, German and English VTT transcripts, timestamped show notes, and 3000 by 3000 artwork.
Labelling:
The episode carries Werbekennzeichnung in the first thirty seconds, in the episode title and in the feed description, per section 22 Medienstaatsvertrag. We will not publish it unlabelled, and we will not hide a brand-produced episode behind praesentiert von, which is presentation wording for editorial the host made. Publishers who agree to that trick have audiences who notice, and the audience punishes the brand rather than the show.
How the run works:
Week one, interviews and subject lock, with a host feed shortlist from the network. Week two, record. Week three, story edit, mix pass, legal. Week four, the host records their own handoff in their own words rather than reading ours, and the episode drops on the show's normal publication day. Never a Friday.
What is not included:
No ad read inside the episode. An episode that also carries a spot asks the same listener for the same thing twice and halves both. No video, no clips package, no ongoing owned-show retainer, which is a hiring decision rather than a production one. Music comes from our Artlist licence unless you want a composer, quoted separately. Translation is a rewrite: the German episode redone in English is a second production, priced as one.
Who this is not for:
Brands whose approval chain cannot survive one uncomfortable sentence. Every episode we have released contains at least one line the client's legal team asked to remove and we argued to keep, because that line is what makes the other thirty minutes credible. If the answer is that nothing unflattering may appear, the episode will be polite, well mixed and ignored, and the budget belongs in host-read spots instead. We will point you at that service rather than take this one.
Also not for brands still finding their first thousand customers. A branded episode moves people who already half-know you. It does not introduce you, and below roughly two million euro in annual DACH revenue the same money buys more in paid reads on shows that already have the trust.
