Neighbourhood-level Nextdoor buying built against customer postal codes, with call tracking and offline conversion import before any media runs.

About this service

Nextdoor produces phone calls and walk-ins. On dealer service departments I have run, between sixty and seventy-five percent of measured response arrived as a call, and the platform's own reporting saw none of it. If your business cannot attribute a phone call, this channel is unmeasurable for you, and I will say that on the first call rather than after the first invoice. Before anything is spent: Two checks. Member density in the neighbourhoods you actually serve, because the Canadian footprint is real in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Ottawa and thin in most other places, and in a thin market the correct recommendation is not to buy. Then tracking: CallRail or equivalent with dynamic number insertion on the landing page, a distinct number on the ad, and offline conversion import so a closed repair order or a signed membership finds its way back. Where neither exists, the first two weeks build them and no media runs until they do. Geography: Nextdoor targets neighbourhood polygons, not radii, and the polygons do not respect your trade area. A five-kilometre radius around a dealership in Laval covers eleven neighbourhoods, four of them across a bridge nobody crosses for a tire change. The build is done neighbourhood by neighbourhood against the postal codes of customers you already have, which for advertisers with several locations is where most of the recoverable waste sits. The Quebec calendar: Winter tires are required by law in Quebec from December first to March fifteenth. That fixes the two demand peaks for automotive service to late October and early April, and makes the first week of November the most expensive inventory in that market. Fitness enrolment moves in January and in the first week of September, not on the American back-to-school dates a US media plan assumes. French creative is written in French rather than translated. Comment threads in Montreal identify translated copy within an hour, and the correction is public. The posts themselves: Sponsored posts carry comments, and the commenters are neighbours who can see your storefront. Someone on your team answers within four business hours, by name. That is a condition of the engagement rather than a recommendation, because an unanswered complaint under a sponsored post outperforms the ad it is attached to. Not included: Local Deals coupon strategy pursued for its own sake. Business page setup for a single location, which takes twenty minutes and you should do yourself. Google Business Profile, review management and paid search, though I will tell you when local search is the actual constraint, and for single-location service businesses it usually is. I will turn this down if: You want national awareness on Nextdoor. It is a neighbourhood surface, and a national buy there is a rounding error against the same money elsewhere. I will also turn it down where the plan involves hiding or removing negative comments on sponsored posts. Neighbours screenshot deletions, and the second thread is always worse than the first. Not for you if: You run one location on under about six thousand dollars a month of total local media. At that size you do not need a fractional executive. You need one afternoon of setup and to run it yourself, and I will name someone who does that work well rather than take the retainer.

What the seller needs from you

  1. 1List your locations with postal codes, and the postal codes of your existing customers.
  2. 2Do you have call tracking with dynamic number insertion in place today?
  3. 3Who answers comments under a sponsored post, by name, within four business hours?
  4. 4Which of your locations serve French-speaking neighbourhoods?
  5. 5What is a booked job or a signed membership worth to you?

Asked at checkout. Delivery time starts once you answer, not when you pay.
